BMW F01 Fuel Injector Replacement

BMW Service, BMW Shop

This 2010 750i came into our BMW repair shop with a check engine light on and white smoke billowing from the exhaust. A BMW smoking makes quite the mess as you can see from the video below. Our expert BMW mechanic scanned the engine and found a “140501 Misfire Cylinder #5” error code. The BMW technician also tested the ignition/fuel delivery system and found wet plugs on the Bank 2 (B2) side. This indicated that all fuel injectors on the B2 side needed replacing.

This known issue with the BMW F01 model has been discussed on many of the BMW forums. Not all of the complaints involved BMW smoking, but they did experience a check engine light and engine sputter. The wet plugs were due to failed injectors and all complaints were addressed once the BMW injectors were replaced.
