COOLING SYSTEM SERVICES

Coolant flushes provide several advantages for your system. J&T Automotive recommends a coolant flush once a year to help keep your cooling system in good operating order since it requires regular maintenance like the rest of your car. If you can’t recall the last time your car had a coolant flush, our crew is here to assist.

What Is the System for Cooling?

There are several elements to the cooling system, including:

  • Radiator
  • Water Pump
  •  Fans & Pipes
  • Antifreeze/Coolant
  • Upper/Lower Radiator Hose

The cooling system is not the air conditioning system. Your engine might be in danger of catastrophic failure should the cooling system malfunction. Even though air conditioning may be a great perk, a car’s cooling system is critical to its overall performance.

The cooling system performs three primary roles, as follows:
  • Prevents the engine from overheating
  • Provides warmth throughout the colder months
  • Ensures that the temperature of the engine is high enough to fulfill emission standards

The cooling system’s primary objective is to keep your engine at a safe operating temperature. This is more difficult than it seems. The cooling system uses coolant (also known as antifreeze) to disperse the heat generated by the combustion engine. De-mineralized water and ethylene or propylene glycol are often used as coolants.

Keeping in mind that coolant doesn’t last forever, it’s also vital to remark. Maintaining vigilance is essential. Antifreeze levels should be checked and fixed at every oil change, although the cooling system doesn’t require a comprehensive maintenance overhaul. The fluid’s quality should also be checked.

The Importance of Coolant

Antifreeze, often known as “coolant,” is used to regulate your engine’s temperature. When we do a coolant flush, we use antifreeze to flush out the old antifreeze and any pollutants that may have accumulated in your car’s cooling system. Next, we remove all of the old coolant from the system so that the new antifreeze won’t mix with the old when it’s placed into the vehicle. As the last step, rust and scale inhibitors are added to the antifreeze to last longer.

The suggested maintenance plan for each vehicle differs based on the vehicle’s make and model. Occasionally, a coolant flush may be required, so consult your owner’s handbook to find out whether this is the case. At least once a year, it’s a good idea. It’s time to have your vehicle’s coolant flushed if it’s been a while since the last time.

When Is The Best Time For A Maintenance Visit?

According to most manufacturers, every 30,000 to 60,000 miles is the recommended interval for a thorough service (or 3-5 years). J&T Automotive is the #1 Trusted Repair Shop to get your cooling system serviced. After the old coolant is drained, our ASE-certified mechanics replace it with a new coolant, that is ready to go.

Our goal at J&T Automotive is to make automobile service as STRAIGHTFORWARD AND TRANSPARENT as possible.
